Nele Schacht realised already as a kid that going swimming in Iceland is not the same as going swimming elsewhere. A lot of those who go swimming do not swim at all. They sit instead and soak in one of the hot pots next to the swimming pool, relax or solve the world’s problems along with the other “swimmers”.
The German illustrator used the time when she worked in Iceland to find out about this phenomenon. She tells the story in the book Hot Pot Geschichten, which is also available in English and Icelandic.
