Life is full of coincidences. Karin Kurzmeyer learned a bit of Icelandic from Anna in Switzerland before she headed off to the Icelandic Academy of Arts for a few months. In Iceland she showed Hildur the very serious pictures from Iceland that she and Piret Uustal from Estonia had done together at the Academy. Hildur liked the humour and Hundahólmi bought the copyright.
All the illustrations can be found in the booklet The Way It Is (Wie es wirklich ist and Las Cosas Claras). They are accompanied by a most informative text about life in Iceland by Hildur and Anna.
A selection of the drawings are also available on postcards, cleaning cloths, tote bags and t-shirts.
